Award-winning entrepreneur and private investor in various industries, including the technology sector, Carlos Blanco Vazquez has over two decades of experience and has made his mark on more than 75 companies. He started making investments in 1996 and has since become known as a serial entrepreneur. Carlos Blanco invests in a variety of industries through his fund Encomenda Smart Capital. While he shifts focus when it comes to investments, Blanco always invests at the seed phase which is the earliest stage of a startup. In 1999 he co-founded First Tuesday. This was a central event where investors and Internet entrepreneurs can meet to share ideas with a view of future business collaboration. In 2001 he launched Grupo ITnet. Specializing in digital gaming, the company was an online business incubator and the breeding space for over ten companies. In 2010 Blanco founded Akamon Entertainment. Known as a top casino and social gaming company Akamon is a leader in its field in Southern Europe and Latin America. When Blanco sold the company at the end of 2015 it became one of the most significant exits in Spain that year.
