Lee Sessions

Lee Sessions is a recognized global expert in corporate venturing and innovation (CV&I). He is the first Executive-in-Residence at Global Corporate Venturing (GCV), where he provides information, insights and access to drive innovation. He offers a unique perspective on the strategies of portfolio development and ecosystem collaboration, as well as an understanding of how to craft impactful programs.
About Lee Sessions
Location
Sessions is based in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley, California, and is also an intrepid adventurer with a lifelong passion for Arctic paddling. He recently (summer 2023) embarked on a 600-mile canoe trip through Canada’s remote Barren Lands.
Brief History
Sessions began his career in HR, initially with PepsiCo from 1987, and then with Intel Capital, the corporate venture capital division of Intel Corporation. He became its Group HR manager and in 2017 he was appointed as Managing Director, Global Corporate Venture Ecosystem.
During his time at Intel Capital, he led the portfolio development and established strategic opportunities for approximately 400 portfolio companies across all investment stages, investing in a broad range of technology companies offering hardware, software, and services targeting enterprise, digital media, mobility, consumer Internet, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Sessions is focused on driving the growth and prosperity in the CV&I sector. Since 2020, he has been both Executive-in-Residence at London-based Global Corporate Venturing (GCV) and a BMG Fellow at Bell Mason Group.
At GCV he is the Corporate Venture Ecosystem Lead, focusing on initiatives that advance CV&I industry growth and success. Since 2016 he has served on its Leadership Society Advisory Board.
Bell Mason Group, based in Berkeley, California, is a CV&I specialist that has helped Global 1,000 companies build effective and measurable innovation and venturing programs that deliver impact, replicability, and scalability.
