Felix Lam started his career as an advisor and held a variety of roles at technology companies in the Asia Pacific region such as Hewlett-Packard, Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel Networks. In 2011, Lam founded Red Chapel Advisors where he continues to serve as founding principal. Red Chapel Advisors are known for designing and conducting early-stage business experiments. In 2016 he co-founded 43 Ventures, a company geared for evangelising social and technological entrepreneurship in the community. Lam became interested in merging social innovation with technological impact and in 2016 he also started serving as executive director of WYNG 43 Social Investment Limited.
Location
After completing his basic education in Australia, Felix Lam enrolled at University of New South Wales where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and telecommunications in 1996. Lam graduated with first class honours. He continued his studies at the university and completed his masters in engineering science and telecommunications in 1996. In 1999 he enrolled at the Australian Graduate School of Management to further his education. Lam then relocated to Hong Kong where he began working as an advisor. He made one of his first investments in the United States into Meh Labs, a company that was acquired in 2014 by Yahoo. In years to come Lam would invest in several early-stage technology ventures in Hong Kong, the United States, Singapore, Australia and Taiwan. He is fluent in English and Chinese.

Felix Lam has made several investments in a range of technological fields including education, mobile communications, robotics and marketplaces. Some of his most significant investments are:
- Because Learning, a United States-based education technology company that offers hands-on STEM learning tools for classrooms and homes.
- Blink, a United States-based mobile messaging and social media company which offers a private social networking app that allows users to post and send self-destructing text, sound, drawings and more.
- Coachbase, a Hong Kong-based sports analytics app used by coaches and players. The idea is to use any mobile device to draw plays and record stats and plays which can be synced to the cloud.
- Compology, a United States-based company that has created a waste management tool that monitors waste containers.
- Frenzoo, a Hong Kong and United States-based company that offers 3D social games aimed at women.
