Ben Choi is Managing Director at Next Legacy Partners, a venture capital firm that works with a community of philanthropists, athletes, cultural luminaries, venture capitalists, and founders to maximize venture capital returns. Choi is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto, California, and served as Board Director of the Chinese Culture Center in San Francisco from 2011 to 2019.
Early Years
Choi graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Computer Science with honors. He went on to complete an MBA at Columbia Business School, where he was chosen to participate in Kauffman Fellows – an exclusive program that identifies and trains up-and-coming venture capitalists.
Choi held several roles in respected venture capital and technology firms, including Venture Partner at Maveron, Cofounder and CEO of CoffeeTable, Senior Director of Product for Creative Cloud at Adobe, and Managing Director at Legacy Venture. In 2023, he advanced to a new role as Managing Director for Next Legacy Partners.

Remarkable Investments
As a Venture Partner, Choi led two major investments for TheWrap, a California news site, which raised $3 million. He also made early stage investments to the highly successful startup companies, Marketo (acquired for $4.75 billion) and CourseHero (last valued at $3.6 billion).
