Mawhinney is considered a heavy hitter in the world of tech venture capital and was named one of the “100 Power Players” in the Cloud by AlwaysOn.

Early Years

Thomas graduated from Harvard College with honors, in 1990, and earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1997. Prior to joining Icon Ventures, he worked at Summit Partners as a Senior Associate and a Principal at Canaan Partners. He also founded North Systems, a venture-backed software company, where he acted as president and COO for five years.
