Early Years
Rob de Heus started his first company in the early 1980s. He has since made a great variety of investments, including a market research company, a direct marketing company, an internet consultancy and a direct response media company. In 1999 de Heus launched DHG Communications Network BV. His aim was to start a no-nonsense independent investment firm that provides capital and personal experience. Since 2009 the investor has been a member of the investment committee of Peak Capital, a Netherlands-based venture capital fund backed by telecom, media and technology (TMT) entrepreneurs. Peak Capital is focused on fast-growing Dutch companies. From 2015 he has been actively invested in HenQ Invest, a Dutch venture capital firm that backs innovative, ambitious and young companies that are either Dutch or is linked with The Netherlands. In 2017 de Heus became a member of the investment committee of Healthy Capital, a Netherlands-based fund interested in backing companies that are developing new technology or innovative applications in the health and care industry.

Rob de Heus is originally from Amsterdam, The Netherlands from where he continues to conduct business. Although de Heus remains in his country of birth and has significant vested interests there, he has also made several investments around the globe in countries such as the United States, Singapore, Israel and India. De Heus speaks Dutch, English, French and German.
Remarkable Investments
Based in The Netherlands, de Heus has been behind several major investments in his native country. In 1994 he invested in Scoot Media, a Dutch company that specialises in performance-based online marketing. In 2008 Scoot Media was acquired by European Directories. De Heus remains invested in Catawiki, the fastest growing online auction house in Europe.
From 2013 to 2016 de Heus was an investor in BlazeMeter, an American cloud-based testing solutions company and in FireLayers, an American cloud application security company from 2015 to 2016. Between 2013 and 2016 he was also active as an investor in RedMart, a Singapore-based online marketplace, after which he invested in Hexadite, an Israel-based company that offers automated cyber incident response solution.

It was reported in September 2018 by Media Nama that Rob de Heus was one of the angel investors in Instamojo’s SmartLinks, a service that will allow customers to send payment requests via links such as SMS, Facebook, web addresses and WhatsApp. This makes it possible for customers to make payments using the links and their chosen method of payment like a debit or credit card, internet banking or digital wallets.
