Bolurfrushan completed his undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received a BSc in Information Systems, Economics, and Finance in 2005. The next year, he completed his master’s at his alma mater in Information Systems Management. Following his studies, he began his professional career at Goldman Sachs, working within the investment strategy group. After a few years, he returned to his studies and graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2010. Bolurfrushan served as a Member of the Board of the Young Presidents Organization from 2013 to 2015. He was also the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer at RAK Petroleum for just under a decade. While at RAK Petroleum, Arya Bolurfrushan propelled the company from producing 8,340 barrels of petroleum per day to 145,000 barrels a day, after which the company was placed on the Public Oslo Stock Exchange.
Bolurfrushan typically invests in consumer internet, social media, information technology, crowdsourcing, and advertising platforms. He is particularly interested in healthcare and diagnostics information disruptors, along with disruptors in the online services platform industries based in Dubai, New York, Europe, and Silicon Valley.

Arya Bolurfrushan has made over 72 investments, both public and private alike. In November of 2010, he invested in Badgeville, a digital motivation and enterprise gaming platform, aimed at securing the correct engagement from the employees and clients of a company. Oppa, a Brazilian-based smart furniture e-commerce company, was next in line for investment from Bolurfrushan in October 2011. He then invested in CrowdVision in July 2012. As a disruptor in the field of information and analytics technology, the company provides insight into crowd behaviors through the use of live video processing. The information gathered is used to aid infrastructure providers, theme parks, and other industries with valuable statistical information on the behavioral patterns of crowds. In February of 2013, Bolurfrushan invested in MeUndies, an e-commerce website that allows you to find the perfect pair of underwear, with monthly underwear subscription options. In December of 2014, he invested in Bidvine, a platform aimed at making life’s choices simpler by providing access to service professionals easily and hassle-free. Arya invested in kid technology Pioneers, SuperAwesome, a company focused on creating a child-friendly ecosystem online, shielding children from the ever-growing pool of adult content on the web, considering that children will naturally be interested in being online and involved with technology. This investment was made in July 2015.

Founded by Arya Bolurfurshan, London-based Applied AI Company (AAICO) has secured $42 million in funding to accelerate its growth in the USA and Europe.
The AI technology firm specializes in regulated industries such as Insurance, Healthcare, and Financial Services. The investment round was led by Abu Dhabi-based AI firm G42, overseen by the UAE’s national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed, along with A.R.M Holding, Plug and Play Investment Group, and prominent families from Europe and the MENA region. AAICO’s seed investors include Stefan von Liechtenstein, Garry Kasparov, Dennis Mahoney, Valnon Holding, Freud Holdings, and HCS GmbH.
Dubai’s Al Maktoum family also participated in the funding. Arya Bolurfrushan expressed gratitude for the support amidst challenging market conditions, emphasizing their commitment to building innovative AI products that streamline mission-critical business processes.
