Early Years
While he was completing his studies, Thilo Konzok worked at Apple in Munich in the sales department for six months before taking on the role of city manager of Airbnb in Munich, Vienna and Zurich. After gaining invaluable experience Konzok ventured into entrepreneurship and co-founded Asuum, a company that develops innovative digital solutions using computer linguistics, big data and machine learning. Konzok then served as interim CPO at Wunder. His next entrepreneurial venture was Home.
Location
In 2010 and 2011 Thilo Konzok worked in the Düsseldorf area in Germany at the Goethe Institute where he was involved in cultural management. During this time he visited New York City in the United States as art direction intern with the Scientific American, Nature Publishing Group of McMillan. Later in 2011 Konzok returned to Germany and enrolled at the Munich Technical University where he completed his bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2015. In later years he spent time in Hamburg, Germany before becoming established in the Berlin area in Germany, where he currently lives and works. His interest in investing in technological companies takes Konzok to both Silicon Valley and Europe, and because of this, he is sought after in the investment realm.
Remarkable Investments
Thilo Konzok’s two most significant investments are Asuum and Home. Asuum is a design technology company with the goal of providing content enrichment tools for top publishers such as Forbes, GQ and Vogue. Although he was a co-founder, Konzok has since exited from the company in late 2014. Home is an app offering a digital platform through which landlords can rent out their properties in a simpler and safer way. Home was launched by Konzok and his business partner Moritz Haze in 2016 with an initial seed investment of EUR€3 million. A further EUR€600,000 was raised in the venture and funding round bringing the total investment funding amount to EUR€3.6 million.

In 2018 Tech Crunch reported on Thilo Konzok’s startup Home. According to the article over 100,000 apartments are already being managed by the Home app which allows landlords to track rent payments by being connected to around 3,000 German banks. Konzok told Tech Crunch that the company’s vision was to provide the best housing experiences to landlords and tenants and that they hope to achieve this through the use of technology. In 2017 Finsmes reported on funding received by Redalpine Venture Partners. It was stated that the undisclosed amount would be used to expand operations and continue developing the application. Deutsche Startups featured Home as one of several prime investments by Tim Schumacher and noted that the company received EUR€3 million in investment from Redalpine Venture Partners and EQT Ventures.
