About Todd Cirella
Background
With more than three decades of experience in the financial sector, Todd began his career in 1993, gaining valuable insight and rigorous training under experienced Wall Street professionals. That foundation continues to influence his work today as he seeks to create innovative, client-focused solutions that support long-term value creation and sustainable profitability.
Career Background and Investment Focus
Todd Cirella launched his finance career with Sands Brothers, a boutique brokerage catering to high-net-worth individuals and international investors, especially from Europe. His expertise evolved over time to include a global perspective and a strong command of high-stakes investment strategies.
In 2004, as Laidlaw & Company expanded its footprint in the U.S., Todd became involved with both Laidlaw Venture Partners and Laidlaw Private Equity LLC. These divisions manage the firm’s Private Stakes Program—an initiative designed to give qualified investors access to late-stage private equity opportunities. These include high-growth sectors such as enterprise technology, fintech, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital commerce. The program strategically positions clients to benefit from liquidity events, including IPOs, acquisitions, and mergers.
Throughout his career, Todd has guided clients through investments in early-stage rounds of some of today’s most well-known companies, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Palantir, Pinterest, and Square. His leadership has been instrumental in channeling over $500 million into more than two dozen funds through Laidlaw’s Private Stakes Program.
Community Involvement and Philanthropy
Outside the office, Todd Cirella is committed to causes that strengthen families and communities. A dedicated volunteer with the American Red Cross, he provides support to individuals and families facing housing emergencies. Now serving in a supervisory role, he oversees volunteer teams and coordinates relief logistics to ensure timely and effective support.
Todd also serves on the board of directors for the Syosset Soccer Program, helping maintain facilities and organize resources for over 2,500 participating youth. In addition to his work in youth sports, he contributes time to Habitat for Humanity, supporting efforts to build homes for families in need. He’s also an advocate for diabetes awareness and education.
In recent years, Todd joined the Columbus Citizens Foundation, an organization committed to celebrating and preserving Italian heritage through cultural and educational programs.
He lives in New York with his wife and three children and plays an active role in promoting safety and unity in his local neighborhood as president of the community association. A nature lover at heart, Todd enjoys boating and gardening in his downtime.
