Gideon Tadmor – Chairman of Navitas Petroleum
Gideon Tadmor is an Israeli born entrepreneur and co-founder of Navitas Petroleum. He is credited as a key founder of the Eastern Mediterranean energy sector and has a reputation for raising equity and debt in both the Israeli and international capital markets. Tadmor is also a film producer and co-founder of Israeli film and television production company, Sipur.

Gideon Tadmor graduated from Tel Aviv University (like other prominent Israeli investors including Shlomo Kramer) with a Bachelor in Law (LLB). He is a member of the Israeli Bar Association. Prior to co-founding Navitas Petroleum, Tadmor held several other high-ranking roles in the industry. He served as Chairman and Co-founder of Avner Oil Exploration LP, Director at Eurogold Ltd., as well as Director and Planning Director at Cohen Development Gas & Oil Ltd.
Successes in the Oil and Gas Industry
In 1999, Israel’s first actively producing natural gas reservoir was discovered named ‘Yam Tethys’ with the aim of developing the reservoir. Gideon Tadmor acted as project lead and saw it through to successful completion. He then broke new ground in the oil and gas sector in Israel by forming several significant partnerships and facilitating a range of highly lucrative offshore campaigns. His efforts lead to the discovery of ‘Leviathan’ and the ‘Tamar’ natural gas fields, which has been actively producing natural gas since 2013.

In 2020, Sipur entered a multi-year agreement with MGM to produce and finance original TV series which cater to both local Israeli communities as well as the global audiences. Following the Hamas-led October 7th Attack on Israel, Sipur announced they would be producing a documentary focusing on the events of the Re’im Music Festival massacre; titled We Will Dance Again. It has since been sold to BBC and Paramount+.
