Development Bank of Wales Backs Swansea-based IoT Company
The Development Bank of Wales has invested an undisclosed six-figure amount into Vortex IoT. The investment was made with the goal of assisting Vortex to achieved continued international expansion. Vortex IoT consists of a team of highly-skilled engineers who use emerging technologies, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design and deliver progressive IoT-driven solutions for problems faced by various industries. In February 2019 Vortex IoT was shortlisted for an award in the Innovation category of the prestigious Swansea Bay Business Awards.

The investment from the Development Bank of Wales will allow Vortex IoT to engage in large-scale growth plans that include securing several prominent clients in the United Kingdom and abroad and also doubling the company’s workforce by December 2019. Currently, the company has a Rapid Prototyping laboratory located in Wales with its head office and a satellite office in Singapore which was established to expand its reach into Asia. Further future plans for the growth and expansion of Vortex IoT include collaborating with Swansea University on a project called Factory of the Future. The aim of the project is in line with Vortex IoT’s goal to discover innovative ways to boost productivity in various industries.
