Andrew Larsen is an investor with a passion for early-stage startups in Australia, particularly in the health tech sector.
He is an ambassador for Australian technology and has worked in numerous technology roles in both the public and private sectors.
Larsen is an investment director at Larsen Ventures, a family-backed firm that provides Seed or Series A venture capital to help education and health tech businesses get off the ground.
Larsen also co-founded Tempus Partners, a venture capital fund based in Sydney. In 2021, the fund was rebranded as Folklore Ventures, in preparation to raise its third venture capital fund.
He was interim chairman of the board at HealthEngine, the online healthcare platform, and was a non-executive director until 2022. He is also a director at SEQTA, a learning management start up for K12.

Early Years
Larsen, originally from Perth, Australia, graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2000 with a BCS (Bachelor of Computer Science). He also has a MCS (Master of Computer Security) from Edith Cowan University, and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Simon Fraser University.
He is a co-founder at SyncLabs, Perth’s first technology focused co-working space, and has been an active venture investor in Australia’s early-stage technology sector since 2012.
Larsen was a non-executive director at Wonde, a provider of cloud-based school data management, and at Enroly, a platform for international higher education recruitment.
He is currently director at Startup AUS, a not-for-profit promoting entrepreneurship in Australia.
Notable Investments
Larsen’s biggest personal investment so far is 1.68 million USD of pre-seed funding for Functionly, a drag-and-drop templated alternative to spreadsheets, diagrams, and slides.
He has made three pre-seed investments, totaling 375K USD to nyfty.ai, which develops AI-powered bots to streamline paperwork drudgery for crew leads and workers on construction sites.
Larsen has also invested 640K USD of pre-seed and angel funding to Vitruvian Form, the startup behind Trainer+, an all-in-one home gym solution. In addition, family-backed Larsen Ventures has invested 15 million USD in the business.

Folklore Investments announced a 40 million USD early-stage venture capital limited partnership (ESVCLP) called Tempus Fund 2 in 2017, aimed at helping B2B startups in Western Australia.
