Miroslava Duma – An Influential Fashion Entrepreneur

Miroslava Duma is a Russian fashion entrepreneur and investor. Duma is the founder and CEO of Fashion Tech Lab, a fashion investment and development company. Duma is also the co-founder of Buro 24/7, a digital lifestyle and fashion magazine. She is known as an international street-style fashion icon and as an active investor in the fashion industry. 

Early Life and Education

Born in Surgut, Russia in 1985, Duma completed her basic education and enrolled at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). She graduated with a master’s degree in international business in 2008. 

Career

Miroslava Duma worked for Harper’s Bazaar as special projects director before shifting to freelance work for some of the biggest Russian fashion titles like Vogue, Forbes Woman L’Officiel, Glamour, and Tatler. 

Buro 24/7
In 2011, Duma teamed up with Fira Chilieva and launched Buro 24/7 after they identified a gap in the market—none of the major fashion titles served digital consumers. Buro24/7 is a digital lifestyle and fashion platform that covers all aspects of fashion and beauty as well as movies and art. The launch of Buro24/7 gave the world an unprecedented glimpse into Russia’s fashion world and turned Duma into a blossoming media mogul and fashion ambassador. Today, Buro24/7 has nearly five million visits every month and is second only to Russian Elle in rankings. 

The Tot
In 2016, Duma co-founded The Tot, a digital destination geared for moms and future moms looking for information, advice, and innovative products that are also healthy and safe. The Tot offers a non-toxic, sustainable product range for moms and babies and has recently ventured into opening a brick and mortar store. 

Future Tech Lab
In 2017, Duma founded Fashion Tech Lab. The company is a venture capital investment firm with sustainable new technologies at heart. Fashion Tech Lab collaborates with companies to create products and brands that will ultimately help the fashion industry to evolve. Focus is placed on tech textiles, wearable tech, nanotechnology, and biotechnology.

Born, raised, and educated in Russia, Duma conducts her global business from Russia. Buro 24/7 launched local adaptations in 11 countries across the world including in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Central Europe.
